Antique 14K Yellow Gold Match Strike Book Pendant Fob Guilloche

An antique 14K yellow gold match strike pendant, circa 1920s. Designed in the form of a miniature book, the case is crafted in 14K yellow gold and features intricate engine-turned (guilloché) engraving on the covers, framed by a Greek key border, with the “pages” represented by a dark textured striking surface. The piece includes a matching gold-handled friction rod that fits into the spine of the case and is removed to strike against the surface to ignite a match, designed to be worn as a fob or pendant on a watch chain. Measuring 45.00 mm in length without the stick and 57.00 mm in length with the stick, 25.00 mm in width, and 8.00 mm in depth. The stick measures 50.00 mm in length. Stamped “585”.
